Colby Covington and Jorge Masvidal are still at it. This time, the fight isn’t taking place inside a cage. It is happening in a Florida courtroom. Covington is currently suing Masvidal for over $100,000 in damages.
The lawsuit stems from their infamous 2022 run-in outside a Miami steakhouse. Covington claims Masvidal ambushed him and punched him twice in the face. He says he suffered a brain injury and a chipped tooth during the scuffle. He is also suing for “mental anguish” and the cost of a damaged Rolex watch.
Masvidal already took a plea deal to wrap up the criminal charges. However, this civil case is a completely different animal. Covington is looking for a pay-out, and neither side seems ready to back down. Settlement talks have happened behind the scenes, but nothing is final yet.
It looks like this rivalry will drag on for a few more rounds. This is a classic case of a personal grudge turning into a long-term legal headache.
